Since its founding in
1903, the Dallas Museum of Art has built major collections in African, Asian, contemporary
and Indonesian art, and possesses substantial photographic, pre-Columbian,
American Colonial-era antique, impressionist and postimpressionist European
art holdings. The Museum has a full-service art research library and computerized
collections database, the 450-seat Horchow Auditorium, two restaurants,
numerous educational programs including a drop-in art program each Saturday
for children, docent tours and music events.
