Dream Collectors

Created to bring the excitement and vitality of classical music into the classroom, Dream Collectors combines classical music, theater, poetry, storytelling and dance into a multi-disciplined performance that transcends language, social and economic barriers. Each 45 minute performance features musical and literary material that motivates and inspires students to set goals and introduces imagination and creativity in daily problem solving. Even the most inexperienced concert audience member is captivated by the variety of artistic expression. Our company of professional musicians and actors has performed for over 100,000 children free of charge since our first performance in 1989.

Dream Collectors is committed to providing professional musical services to the greater Dallas community FREE of charge. This outreach program furthers our mission by focusing on schools that have limited funding for enrichment programs. Dream Collectors is solely supported and sponsored by the Fine Arts Chamber Players and is not affiliated with any other non-profit organization. No other arts organization in Dallas offers the diversity of programming in one presentation that Dream Collectors offers.

For Every Action...or The Matter of Choice uses live classical music and theater to link science, history, physics, literature and the arts. Using the scientific principles of Sir Isaac Newton and the classical music of J. S. Bach, Dream Collectors explores actions, reactions, choices and personal responsibility using flute, oboe, clarinet, keyboard, percussion and creative movement. This fast-paced physical comedy, set in 17th century Europe, uses the social patterns of the time to weave a tale of greed, love, and ultimately the power of individual choice. The program explores Isaac Newton's three laws of motion and finds parallels in both music and life.
Program duration: 40 minutes
